Phoenix, AZ- A United States Coast Guard H-60, Jayhawk, helicopter will demonstrate rescue techniques at Lake Pleasant on May 17, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. The helicopter from U.S. Coast Guard Air Station San Diego will deploy rescue swimmers into the lake demonstrating current air-sea rescue practices.
Learning how to operate a boat safely and avoiding excessive speed, alcohol, and carbon monoxide poisoning will be featured a this years Celebration. Free boat safety checks taking less than 15 minutes will be provided offered by qualified Coast Guard Auxiliary and U. S. Power Squadron members. The first 200 vessels that checked will receive a discount coupon for park future entry. Various product giveaways, mini-boating safety seminars, and related activities will help add to this great family outing.
